Artist’s Comment
This beautiful old farmhouse near Winters cutoff is the first landmark that I see as I return from teaching classes for two days in the Bay area. I know I am on my way home to Mount Shasta when I drive on this road dotted with old structures, barns, and farm equipment. Old farmhouses like this one reminds me of a time when families worked together, living by farming crops or raising livestock. To create a sense of isolation, I intentionally created this farmhouse painting with the farmhouse set back from the road and included a variety of farm buildings with land all around.
