If you enjoyed this excerpt and would like to learn more about painting outdoors, you might like to purchase Stefan Baumann’s instructional DVD, which expands on the painting portion you just watched.

This NEW release from Stefan Baumann and The Grand View is the first in a series of his popular PBS Television Series The Grand View, featuring Baumann painting Yellowstone Falls from Red Rock vista point in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This is the very place that Bierstadt and Thomas Moran painted, and now you can witness Baumann capturing one of the most iconic vistas in America. See from start to finish how Stefan starts his painting in washes and then creates the effect of aerial perspective, then demonstrates with a swipe of  his brush how to capture the effects of  falling water and mist using light and shadows.

Artists from around the world use the Baumann method to increase their understanding of painting on location and improve their studio work, and to save valuable time and energy while enjoying the process of painting.

This amazing video was captured on location using modern sound equipment and high definition cameras, and the DVD will be a cherished addition to your art video collection. Click here to learn more and purchase the DVD.
